Man sitting beside flowing creek

Let’s stay positive

In many places there will be powerful earthquakes. People will go hungry. There will be terrible sicknesses. Things will happen that will make people afraid. Luke 21:11 (NIRV)

Sound familiar? Throughout history mankind has been through some horrendous times and this is one of them.

Hopefully COVID 19 will leave more of a positive effect then a negative one when, God willing, we reach our ’new normal’; one where we we will value face to face physical contact; we will realise that there is joy in the simple things in life; that family time matters; that it’s good to slow down and take time to enjoy just being out and about in our environment; that we will be thankful for those who have risked much for us and grieve for those who have lost.

Hopefully too, people searching for some sort of meaning in all this, will accept the hope that God promises.  One of these days there will be calamity like this, but it will be the last time – because Jesus will return. Perhaps we are in the very last days right now. Read for yourselves about this time in the rest of chapter 21 in Luke’s gospel.

The Bible is God’s message of hope for you. If you are interested in searching for the answers we strongly recommend you download the "Bible Companion" app (see our Resources page) from where you can access Carelinks messages, daily Bible readings, Bible Basics, commentary on every verse of the Bible and audio exhortations on every chapter of the Bible.

God be with you.
