Hope in a hopeless world

There are many people in the world in dire circumstances. It is easy to lose hope. We all need to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

When Israel was going through bad times, as recorded in the Old Testament, many of their prophets gave messages of gloom. But interspersed with these were always messages of hope.

Some of these read as follows:

The LORD will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.

(Isaiah 2:4 New Living Translation)

He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited

In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all..

Nothing will hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the LORD

(From Isaiah 11 NLT)

God always gives us hope in what might seem to be a hopeless world.
