Our community of believers in Taree does not own a church hall. Instead we hold our Sunday service in a rented hall. It’s easy to sometimes think that it would be better to worship in a nice building of our own; one which people would be attracted to.

Earlier this year vandals threw rocks through some of the high windows at the front of the hall. The owners of the hall have not yet replaced the broken windows which are rather an eyesore.

Editorial. 6.8.2017. Baptism – is it a joke?

 noticeboard

Recently this sign appeared on a local church noticeboard:

Church parking only. Violators will be baptised.

Yes, it probably shows that the church can have a sense of humour but there is a much more serious side to baptism than that.

Jesus said, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

Peter wrote:  God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:20,21

Meditation. 6.8.2017. Devoted Lives (Acts 2)

So these new believers devoted themselves to four things to help them concentrate on living the new life.
