Fires and Neighbours
"’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.’" (Luke 10:27)
When Jesus told the lawyer this was the right answer to his question, the lawyer immediately asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbour?” In answer to this, Jesus related the story of the Good Samaritan.
Many of us living in the Mid North Coast have experienced devastating bushfires in recent weeks. But we have also been blessed to experience the true meaning of “who is my neighbour?” So many in our communities and from elsewhere have rallied to be there for others in time of need. It has been a time of great loss and trauma but also a time of selfless giving.
Heartfelt thanks to all those who have shown what it is to be a true neighbour.
