What to write
When writing an editorial each month, one seeks inspiration as to what to write about. Thankfully all our inspiration comes from God’s Word, the Bible.
But what of the people who wrote the books in the Bible? Where did their inspiration come from?
It came in various ways, from God.
For example:
To Moses – “the Lord said to Moses”
To Isaiah – “the vision that Isaiah son of Amos saw”
To Jeremiah – “the Lord said, "I have put my words in your mouth.”
“The word of the Lord that came to…”: Hosea, Joel, Jonah, Micah, Zephaniah etc.
The apostle Peter said,” Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” 2Peter 1:21
And Paul said, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2Timothy 3:16
We can trust the Bible because it is God’s Word. May we echo the sentiments of David when he wrote, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
