BEAUTY IN SIMPLICITY
Imagine for a moment, Jesus, standing before a crowd in your local town, teaching. In this world of self-promotion and instant gratification, his words would be just as revolutionary as they were over 2000 years ago. His message would turn upside down so many of the aspirations of our society.
“Strength through weakness, beauty in bleak truths, true wealth in poverty, leadership through service, unity despite diversity, love in rebuke, joy through suffering! That is a challenge to those whose culture has its values skewed the other way.” *
We do well to listen to his simple truths left for us in the Gospels, for therein lies the beauty of a life of contentment and hope.
For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest. Luke 9:48
