Who said we need family?
Who said we need family? Well actually, God did.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families… (Psalm 68:5,6)
Many of us find ourselves without family for numerous reasons. For those who suffer loneliness and lack the support that belonging to a family gives, God has an answer. He wants you in His family.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1)
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God … And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." (Romans 8:14,15)
It is a wonderful thing to be part of a worldwide community of believers and feel like you belong. Belong as children of God, and as brothers and sisters of Jesus!
So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. (Hebrews 2:11)
And as God’s family we have a wonderful promise:
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 1John 3:2
