Why would you want to be a Christian?
(Part 1)
You have probably heard people ask this question; people who look at churches and see only rules and regulations and hypocrisy.
But being a Christian is a very individual and personal journey.
It is not always an easy road.
We are not promised that we won’t travel the hills and valleys of life. What we are promised is that we will be given the strength to endure whatever comes.
Christians don’t profess to be perfect. On the contrary, we are Christians because we realise our imperfections and that our only hope is in Jesus.
Over the next few monthly Spiritual Reflections, our aim will be to show you what it means to be a Christian and why it is our best choice - both for now, and for the future. We will reflect on personal thoughts of some who have chosen to be followers of Jesus.
As you ponder the question in the title, perhaps begin by bearing in mind the words of the apostle Simon Peter himself, who said to Jesus,
“Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.
We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68,69 NLT
Please continue to join us in coming months to discover how being a Christian can change your life.
