Why would you want to be a Christian?
Part 6 (conclusion)
In our last Spiritual Reflection we promised, that in this conclusion to our series, we would talk about what it means to be a Christian now.
By a quaint little gateway just outside a small rural village in southern NSW, there is a sign which reads:
No Jesus. No peace.
Know Jesus. Know peace.
And really that is the essence of what a difference being a Christian can make to our lives. When the world is in turmoil and people are fearful, we can still have peace of mind.
Why do we have this peace, a peace that is beyond our understanding? (Philippians 4:7)
- Because we feel loved, valued, accepted and forgiven (John 3:16)
- Because life has meaning, knowing that God has a plan. (Isaiah 46:10)
- Because we have hope. (1 Peter 1:3)
- Because we are given strength to endure what comes. (Philippians 4:13)
- Because we are part of a family – God’s family (1 John 3:1,2)
- Because we have a moral code to live by. (Luke 10:27)
- Because through His Word, we have direction in life. (Psalm 119:105)
- Because we can communicate with God and His Son in prayer. (Philippians 4:6,7)
- Because we can experience true joy. (John 15:11)
Why would you not want to be a Christian?!
